Having problems getting a usb flash drive to show up in windows 98?

I’m having trouble getting a cruzer micro usb flash drive to show, on my brothers’ HP pavillion 6630, which is running Windows 98, which I’m unfamiliar with. I’ve downloaded the driver for it, burned it to disc and loaded it into the computer and it says the installation was successful, but it still won’t register in my computer, nor in his windows media player, for I’m trying to retrieve some music files he has on there for him, which makes me glad I’ve waited till XP came out before getting my computer cause if I had 98 I’d be bald headed from tearing my hair out !!! Oh and the computer is used offline.

confusing… try to see if the device manager even sees the flash drive. and also i have got a 4 in 1 disk. it let me make Standalone isos. it has Windows 2000 Pro, Advanced server, Server, Datacenter Server, and windows MilleniumEdition (ME) sux ass. dont tell him to use it. ME has really the worst compatibilty with that stuff.
